The First Step!
The journey begins when Kajor Mal Sharma, from the small village of Prithvipura near Alwar, arrives in Jaipur with a singular purpose — to master the art of marble craftsmanship.
Early Years — Foundation of Craft
Under the guidance of his uncle Pt. Lallu Prasad Sharma (National Award Winner, 1991), Kajor Mal Sharma begins learning sacred sculpting at a young age, absorbing generations of artistic knowledge and spiritual discipline.
Independent Beginnings
After years of working alongside his uncle, Kajor Mal Sharma takes a decisive step forward, laying the foundation for an independent venture rooted in craftsmanship, integrity, and devotion.
Birth of Shankar Moorti Arts
With limited resources but boundless determination, Shankar Moorti Arts is established as a proprietorship firm. Operating from a small rented shop, funded through a personal loan and supported by his brother Gajanand Sharma, the journey of formal entrepreneurship begins.
The Second Generation Joins
The legacy strengthens as elder son Shankar Sharma joins the business, bringing renewed energy and continuity to the craft.
A Sacred Milestone
A landmark creation takes shape with a 108-inch black marble idol commissioned for the revered Palitana Tirth, establishing national recognition for scale and precision.
First Major Temple Project
Execution of the first large-scale temple project at the renowned Ambala Vijay Indradinn Temple marks a turning point in institutional and trust-led projects.
Expansion Across States
A significant temple project in Chhattisgarh further strengthens Shankar Moorti Arts’ presence beyond Rajasthan.
International Recognition
The first international project is delivered for Hilton Hotel, marking entry into global hospitality and architectural installations.

The proprietorship evolves into a private limited entity, formalising governance, scalability, and long-term vision.

An eCommerce initiative is launched under the brand Moortikart, extending reach to global customers through digital platforms.
Growth, Resilience & Consolidation
Expansion across temple and institutional projects, with growing exports and global clientele. The Moortikart eCommerce initiative was phased out to refocus on core craftsmanship. Despite COVID-related disruptions, the business stabilised, strengthened operations, and emerged more focused and resilient.
